A New Hope for Urban Communities

There is a crisis in America's urban communities today. The percentage of poor Americans living in severe poverty has reached a 32-year high-nearly 16 million Americans are living in deep or severe poverty. Millions more working families are falling dangerously close to the poverty line. Urban areas, where poverty is most rampant, are disproportionately affected.

Of all large cities in this country, Detroit is the poorest. Once a thriving metropolitan landmark, today it is painfully blighted not only by poverty but also by many of the pathological problems that can accompany urban decline: high crime, substance abuse, illiteracy, and family disintegration.

New Creations Community Outreach is committed to reinvigorating urban communities in Detroit and other impoverished areas. It is well on its way to achieving this goal, and since 1993, it has been delivering new hope and a bright future to men, women, and their children and families.
